Everyone, I’m elated to tell you that Tumblr will be joining Yahoo.

Before touching on how awesome this is, let me try to allay any concerns: We’re not turning purple. Our headquarters isn’t moving. Our team isn’t changing. Our roadmap isn’t changing. And our mission – to empower creators to…

Although I’m excited to see this, and be reassured. I do have this to say:

This is tumblr. This is the safe haven we can escape from the rest of the scary internets.

And yahoo is as said, an original Internet company.

There is a reason why our generation does not like yahoo.

And just like the rest of anything and everything that happens on the Internet, it will

SPIRAL

OUT

OF

CONTROL.

Granted, tumblr is home to emotionally and mentally unstable fandoms that due to their own cruel fates, continuously spiral out of control,
But the difference is that we spiral out together, we spiral out in this gorgeous website, and we spiral out happily.

This is a corner of the Internet that is not a deep dark and scary place. Unlike reddit. Reddit is a very terrifying place that most that are weak of mind and body should avoid at all costs.

And what odd dark and yes, admittedly pornographic things we have, they are still pure and most are still in the name of art, expression, and thought. (Calm your tits I said MOST)

If yahoo wants to get rid of anything, please tell us now. I want to leave with tumblr’s dignity in tact. That way ill always remember it in purity, not corrupted by darker days of the Internet.

But if nothing at all if going to change then okay! Everyone will still remain happy.

Well, happy is a very optional word.

But my point is that you can reassure us, yes, though is the reassuring only setting some of us up for prolonged heartbreak, or are we really just over thinking it all?

We are your fans, your people, your life source. We are what makes this place thrive,

Thrive in the name of art, happiness, creation, discussion, expression, and togetherness.

But we are also now worried, and slightly scared. Please do not let us down.
